Kent Youth League

March 11th 2007
Chatham Town U/18  2   Lordswood U/18  1

With only one defeat in the last six games Lordswood went into this fixture confident they could avenge the correspondant home defeat. As a local derby game it was scrappy but fearcely contested. In the first half Chatham created the better shooting opportunities but Lords keeper Sam Leadsham was never troubled. The second half saw Lordswood take the iniative and they thought they had taken the lead when Dale Kitchener fired home only to be ruled offside. David Abe showed the way when he smashed in the opening goal. Lordswood took control of the game and looked comfortable untill a defensive howler let in Chatham for the equalizer. Chatham sensed the game was there for for the taking and with the best move of the game a terrific strike ended the contest and duly completed the double over their local rivals.
