ABANDONED AFTER 60 MINS

The game started quickly for Erith and Belvedere continuing after their great win against Thamesmead when after 4 minutes Nick Smith in the area turned and crossed low into the six yard box but unfortunately no one was their to stab home. Lordswood got into the action in the 13th minute when a Lewis Taylor corner found Danny Malone 7 yards out but his header went just past the post. In the 19th minute a cracking move started by Mark Vernon who passed to Craig Beckwith who played Lewis Taylor in on the left wing and his perfect cross saw Jamie Taylor’s flicked header force Grant Wallis to save at the far post. The rest of the half was an open game with both sides playing good football but alas lacking the cutting edge.

The second half was only 15 seconds old when Danny Malone’s long ball saw Mark Vernon get behind the defence and as the ball bounced on the edge of the area his lunge for it nearly saw Wallis embarrassed as he nearly missed it but luck was on his side as the ball ended up in his mid drift. Then the excitement or farce whichever way you look at it came in the 58th minute when the Referee Andy Carter stopped the game to speak to Shawn Mitchell about evicting a spectator from the ground but Shawn replied he was only the football manager and could not do it. Two minutes later when the ball came over to the stand side he call Darrell Harman over and asked him to evict the person out of the ground or he would abandon the game. The person was spoken to but refused to go upon which the refree immediately abandoned the game.
