Kent Premier League

15th December 2007
Lordswood 1   Greenwich Borough 3

Lordswood’s three game winning run came to an end against a good Greenwich Boro side although it could be said that Lordswood did not perform as they have in the last three games.

The game started slowly for both sides as passes went astray and both sides could not keep the ball for a long time and then in the 23rd minute Ben Yiadom crossed low into the area for Peter Smith who adjusted himself and saw his shot goalwards cleared of the line by Lee Skinner, three minutes late Greenwich thought they had gone ahead when a free kick into the area was headed goalwards by Peter Smith but it came back of the crossbar for Yiadom to stab home but he was offside. Greenwich finally got the goal they deserved in the 34th minute Peter Smith chipped into the area and Badar Mohummed chested it down and shot home.

The second half started slowly again but Lordswood finally got going in the 53rd minute when a long clearance by Rowen Arnott found Dave Masters who flicked it on for Jamie Taylor who ran on and his shot from 20 yards sailed over the bar. In the 65th minute a corner to the near post saw Adam Douglas get a touch to it but unfortunately it went over the bar. Greenwich had their first chance of the half in the 73rd minute when Budek Hussein on the edge of the area saw his shot acrobatically saved by Rowen but two minutes later they increased their lead when Darren Marsden was dispossessed on halfway by Wifred Gnally who ran forward and passed into the path of Yiadom who from 15 yards shot home. Five minutes later it was three when Hussain received the ball 25 yards out looked up and saw his shot hit the back of the net. Lordswood were now dead and buried but to be fair they tried their best and kept going and in the 84th minute a corner into the area saw Ben Ashdown’s header cleared off the line by Smith but a minute later a corner to the near post saw Dave Masters head in and in the very next minute a ball into the area by Adrian Bagshaw was headed on by Dave Masters for Lee Farrell whose shot hit the post.
