Lordswood F.C. was formed in 1968 and joined the Rochester and District League, where they won successive Divisions and Cups before finally
ending up in the Premier Division. The club then applied and was successful in gaining entry into the Kent County League in 1981/82. The Lords soon made
their mark at a higher standard of football and within 5 years of joining they again found themselves in the Senior Division.
In June 1996 officials of Lordswood attended the Kent League AGM and made a successful application to join the Winstonlead Kent League,
which became the "Go Travel" league and then the "Kentish Observer" league in 2005, now the "Kent League" and have fielded teams in the Premier Division
and Divisions 1 & 2.
Lordswood is situated in the Medway Towns where the club own their own ground and have continually improved their facilities over the years
- see photo's contained in the section 'Martyn Grove'. The ground is equiped with floodlights, a 123 seater stand and hard standing / terracing around three
sides of the ground. A brand new Hospitality suite / Boardroom which was opened by Andy Hessenthaller when he brought his Gillingham side for a friendly
in July of 2003. This game brought the record gate of 600 and although we lost 5-0 , two weeks later Gillingham FC beat Preston North End by the same score
so we are in good company.
Our highest League position is 8th which we have achieved last season and the club has reached the Semi-Finals of the Kent Senior Trophy
three times and the League Cup once. We have entered the FA Cup and Vase for the last eight years but as yet have not got past the 1st Qualifying Round of
the F.A. Cup and the 1st Round of the F.A. Vase.
Our biggest win was against Erith Town who we beat 7-0 and our biggest defeat is 8-1 away at Folkestone Invicta. We were Runners -up in the
Midweek League in 1998-99 when we lost 2-0 to St Leonards.
