    The game started slowly as both teams struggled to get going but in the 14th minute Sevenoaks nearly took the lead when a ball forward found Tony Atkins who turned and shot but Gavin was able to push it away and in the next minute Lordswood should have scored when Adam Ling on the left crossed into the area where Dave Forster ghosted in but from 6 yards on his own he headed over the bar. Another chance came in the 25th minute when Nick Smith controlled a long ball on the right wing took the defender on went to the by-line and his cross to the near post was met by Adam Ling whose flicked header went across the goal but unfortunately no one was there to shoot or head home. Sevenoaks had a glorious chance to score in the 35th minute when Courtney Rayfield on the right crossed into the area for Matt Fagan but like Dave Forster he headed over the bar. Lordswood took the lead in the 44th minute when a ball forward to Nick Smith saw him flick it over the defender go into the area and shoot past Jaime Williams.

    The second half followed the first as again it took both sides time to get going but Sevenoaks were the first and in the 58th minute they equalised when a crossfield ball to Fagan who chested it down and went into the area and shot past Gavin. Three minutes later it could have been worse for Lordswood as a corner into the area saw Perry Spackman have a free header but Gavin was able to push it away, in the very next minute Sevenoaks thought they had scored when a free kick on the edge of the area taken by Tom Olsen went over the wall beat Gavin but hit the crossbar came out and Tony Atkins headed in from 2 yards but he was adjudged offside. Lordswood’s first real effort of the half came in the 73rd minute when Clint Gooding returning to Lordswood from Sittingbourne received the ball in the area controlled it and his shot from the angle was pushed out by Williams to Dave Forster whose first time shot from 12 yards was blocked..

    The last chance of the game came in the 85th minute when Ray Broad running forward slid the ball wide to Nick on the left and his cross was punched clear by Williams but only to Ray but from 12 yards he blazed his shot over the bar.
